The 6Zh43P-E (6Z43PE) is a Russian high frequency amplifier pentode with separate anodes. The design application is wide-band amplifiers.
The construction is overall quite substantial, with connections between pins and electrodes effected by metal strips rather than the usual thin wires. The opposing anodes are formed as shallow "U"-channels of fairly thick gauge (approx. 0.2 mm) sheet, and their attachments are reinforced by metal strips on the other side of the top and bottom micas. Each anode has a separate connection. Instead of a third grid, there is an open metal bracket which very obviously serves as beam plates, so the valve is actually a beam-tetrode rather than a pentode. The bracket is continued in effect under the lower mica by a low wall that entirely surrounds the electrode terminations and thus screens them. On the topside, the getter "O"-ring is supported by two opposed fairly substantial wire struts, one of whose mounting posts is connected to the beam-plate bracket support on that side.
The pins all have the shiny non-tarnishing finish typical of Russian "-E"-qualified long-life valve types.
The Central section consists of the flattened cylinder cathode and inner grids together with the beam plates. The U shaped anodes are seen either side. The opening in the beam-plate reveals the gold plated screen grid.
The top mica: the multiple loops of the heater can be seen within the cathode. The control grid supports are approx. 1 mm in diameter,
Thanks to R J Sutherland for the excellent images and information.
The thin glass tube envelope is 22 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 50 mm tall.
