The 6F17 is an RF and pulse beam tetrode. The design dates from 1948 and is for voltage amplification. The 6F17 was used in television receivers.
The S6F17 is a special quality version of this design.
The small electrode assembly within the envelope.
The face view of the anode with the beam plate behind. There is extensive screening and the control grid is wound on copper supports.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins, is 45 mm tall.
