The VT-288 (commercially the 12SH7) is a US Government specification for this Vacuum Tube.

This pentode was designed for wideband RF and IF amplification and has a relatively high gm value to ensure a good gain-bandwidth product.

The 6SH7 differs only in heater requirement and was made for vehicle based equipment.

The RCA logo.

Made in USA. The 12SH7 text is also punched into the can at the base.

The thin metal tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 51 mm tall.
