The CV4024 (commercially the 6060) is the Brimar equivalent of the Mullard M8162 special quality version of the ECC81 VHF double triode. It is clear that the CV specification matches the commercial 6060 and 12AT7WA design. It is useful for RF stages, oscillators and frequency multipliers, but the construction is slightly different to the ECC81. We also have the F version of the 6060 with flying leads. The KB/AD identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the AD identifies the maker as Brimar - Thorn-AEI, Rochester.
The 12AT7WA Type designation.
The twin triode sections but the envelope does not have the Brimar T sticker denoting a Trustworthy valve. The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins, is 48 mm long.References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type CV4024 was first introduced in 1956. See also 1956 adverts. |
