The CV850 is a low noise RF voltage amplifying pentode, designed to operate at VHF.
The KB/R identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the R identifies the maker as Ferranti, Moston.
See also 6AK5 the prototype for more details.
The anode is flat sided and the whole electrode assembly is small within the miniature B7G envelope.
The cathode tube is flattened and the fine grid wires can be seen through the lower anode notch.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and excluding the B7G base pins measures 37 mm tall.
