Mullard Valve Donation by Peter Bates (GM4BYF) Other DY86 exhibits

The DY86 is a television EHT rectifier. It was designed to have its heater supply produced by an overwind on the line output transformer. The 18,000 Volt rating places this as a rectifier for medium sized monochrome televisions.

The DY87 only differs in that the glass is silicone treated for better insulation in humid conditions.

The bell anode connects to the top cap and base is surrounded by a shield to protect from any soft X-rays.

The heater and cathode connection on pin 1 with the other end connected to pin 2.

The thin glass tube envelope is 22 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 67 mm tall.
