The CV2306is an X-Band TR switch used to protect the sensitive receiver front end from the radar transmit pulse. Operation is around 9-10 GHz.
The KB/QG identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the QG identifies the maker as English Electric Valve Co., location unknown.
The waveguide is sealed and of reduced aperture to achieve impedance matching.

The twin sections are sealed with the glass bead.
This side the ends are threaded and there will be gaps within the body of the waveguide that will breakdown the gas filling to block the signal path when the TX pulse arrives.
The waveguide envelope is 41 mm square, and is 40 mm side to side.
