The CV6045 is a beam tetrode designed for stabilised power supplies and DC control applications. The ratings are absolute maxima and based on producing stabilised HT rails, when operating as a series pass valve.
Series pass operation implies working all the time at a high percentage of the maximum cathode current and is consequently very demanding on the cathode. The normal solution is to provide large cathode areas and generous heating power.
The KB/F identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the F identifies the maker as STC, Paignton.
The twin cathodes for generating the high volume of electrons required.
The control grid winding extends beyond the screen grid winding. The first screen grid wire can be seen just above the top of the anode.
The B7A base pins and sintered hard glass base.
The wide glass tube envelope is 64 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7A base pins, is 121 mm tall.
