The CV5182 (commercially the 6AN5WA) is a special quality version of the 6AN5. The design is for long life and stable performance as one of the main application areas is within electronic computers.
The data-sheet gives applications as wide band RF or video amplifier, pulse amplifier or frequency divider. The cathode is designed to withstand operating for long periods under cut-off conditions.
As a power amplifier it can produce 1.25 Watts.
The KB/LB identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the LB identifies the maker as CSF, St. Egreve, Grenoble, Isere, France.
The open sided anode reveals the beam tetrode construction. The wire grids are formed so that the wires pass flat across the cathode. Close to the base the ends of a few loops of the control grid can be seen.
The anode face view. The anode plate is narrower than the bright beam plate within.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins is 46 mm tall.
