The CV244 (commercially the MS/Pen) is an indirectly heated straight HF pentode. The prototype was from Cossor. Both Type designations are present on the metallised envelope.
The connecting wire is fixed to the glass before the metallising paint is applied.

The view through the top of the valve reveals little more than the top screen. This isolates the anode field from the grids.
The classic envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B5 base pins, is 113 mm tall.
