The CV5156 (commercially the EF89 or 6DA6) is a miniature RF voltage amplifier. Mullard describe the EF89 as a variable μ pentode for use as an RF or IF amplifier in FM/AM receivers and is designed to work with a tuned anode circuit.
This example was Made in India.
Through the mesh screen the anode can be seen as two plates joined together. The three wire grids can be glimpsed through the hole in the screen.
At full size even the control grid winding can be seen. The inner grids look to have the same pitch.
The width of one half of the anode. The lead to the pin is screened.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 53 mm tall.
