The VCR139A
These two oscilloscope tubes are often seen in the literature as equivalent. In fact they have different CV numbers suggesting that to the British Government real differences existed between the two types. The VCR139A = CV1588 and the ACR10 = CV1382.
In terms of sensibly equivalent it is the case that the two appear to be interchangeable, at least in the case of general use. For military use other factors come into play such as high altitude performance, ability to operate in humid conditions or where vibration is a problem. For airborne radar these would be significant, but less so for an army unit with, possibly, a less critical need for close to 100% reliability.
