This somewhat distressed paper covered two part pasteboard box dates to the mid 1920s. The valve is protected by horsehair contained within an inner box. the inner box is formed to allow an air gap between the walls of the outer and inner containers. This was not a cheap box to make. The box is 87 mm square and 140 mm tall.
