RCA describe the 12CA5 as being designed for operation on a series heater string. The warm-up time for this AF output pentode is given as 11 seconds.The 6AC5 is electrically identical but has a 6.3 Volt heater.The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins is 58 mm tall.References: Data-sheetn & 3002.
