The S4143P is a video camera tube. Newvicon is a trademark of Matsushita of Japan and the Newvicon is a Videcon like device in that it it is a photoconductive tube that is scanned with a low velocity beam.

The Newvicon target is made from Zinc Selenide and Zinc Cadmium Telluride. The notable feature of the Newvicon is its high light sensitivity.
