The 4643 is a power triode for audio and HF transmitting. The anode and control grid connections are screw caps that fit flush to the envelope. As screw caps for receiving valves come from the early 1930s it is probable that this is from the same period.
Jim VK2WX/VK3OX/G4CGO, comments that his father used these valves in the 1930s and a pair of 4643s were used in large audio amps to deliver several hundred watts.
The wide glass tube envelope is 60 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 180 mm tall.
Reference: Observation.
