The C3g is a professional HF pentode with the glass envelope encased in an aluminium screening can. The screening can is electrically connected to the central spigot of the base.

The Type designation and maker's name is on the dome.
The base pins are gold plated - an indication of a valve aimed at the professional or military user.
The wide glass tube envelope is 32 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8B base pins is 54 mm tall.
