The 33HE7 is a diode beam tetrode. The design purpose was as a damping (efficiency) diode and line output valve in TV receivers.
The 33HE7 is part of a compactron series that differ only in heater specifications: 6HE7, 12HE7 and 58HE7.
The efficiency diode anode.
The beam tetrode on the left with the diode on the right. Note the diameter of the diode cathode - this is a heavy duty device.
The wide glass tube envelope is 38 mm in diameter, and excluding the B12C base pins is 68 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type 33HE7 was first introduced in 1973. See also 1973 adverts.
