The 6C9 is a VHF double tetrode designed for use as VHF RF amplifiers or VHF autodyne (self oscillating) mixers.
The 17C9 is the same valve electrically but has a 150mA heater for series heater chain use.

The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the special ten pin base is 49 mm tall.
