The LDR03 is a cadmium sulphide light dependent resistor and in size looks much the same as the Mullard ORP12. Unlike vacuum photo-conductive tubes the LDR is much slower to react to light changes mS not μS. For process control or photographic enlarger controls they worked very well

The active material placed on a ceramic substrate.

The thin glass tube envelope is 14 mm in diameter and, excluding the base wires, is 8 mm tall.
