This valve is marked as VT185W and W42/1 plus a number 4328 and no trace has been found of any of these identifications.It is a screened pentode with the control taken to the top cap. The base is International Octal.
The outer screen hides the insides but at the top can be seen the tops of the grids supports.

The control grid has fins on both supports to radiate heat away from the grid.The classic envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 111 mm tall.References: Observation. |
