The DGP3 is a bi-grid valve designed for use in a Unidyne type circuit. The control grid is the outer helix. The inner grid called g2 is a space charge grid.
The label on the exhibit gives the filament voltage as between 3 to 3.5 Volts and the anode voltage as 4 to 15 Volts.
The Vatea logo is printed on the envelope.
A closer view of the logo.
Internally the pinch can be seen and on the base cap is the paper identification label.
The simple split-pin base pins. The space charge grid connection is on the side.
The Type designation is also printed on the envelope.
The Company logo with the horizontal electrodes in the background.
Here the single strand filament can be seen passing through the centre of the two helical grids. The anode is a bright cylinder.
The balloon envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 72 mm tall.
Reference: 3002 and valve label. Type DGP3 was first introduced in 1925. See also 1925 adverts.
