The B8D miniature base was introduced in 1950 for a range of sub-miniature all glass valves. The pins/wires are arranged on a circle of diameter 6 mm. Originally the B8D was defined but when sub-miniature valves with short leads were introduced the base became sub-divided. B8D for short pins for use with a valve holder and B8D/F for valves with flying leads for direct soldering into a circuit. As with all base diagrams the view is looking towards the pins.
The pin-outs below refer to the data researched by Keith R Thrower OBE.
