Ostar Ganz was the brand name of valves made in Austria by Gustav Ganz & Co. The period of activity was the 1930s.
We have examples of their valves that were designed with filaments designed to operate directly across the supply mains AC or DC.
Thrower writes, The filaments were made from four metres of 0.015 mm tungsten wire.
