The CV2116 is a reflex klystron with the VX5029 as the prototype. The resonator cavity connects to the two 24 mm diameter circular rings.
The CV2116 klystron was designed to generate RF power of up to 140 mW over the frequency range 1.8 - 4.5 GHz. The reflector voltage would be adjusted for maximum output and a series of peaks would be found corresponding to the number of electron bunches being reflected. Typically the reflector voltage was 250 volts but the maximum voltage was 500 volts. The cathode shield would be operated at 0 V.
The cavity connections and the small space between the electrodes.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 68 mm tall.
