This EHT rectifier is a low power device, suitable for the CRT's used in indicating instruments such as oscilloscopes.
The number of equivalents suggests that this was a standard device of its time.
The series resistance to be used with the valve has to be above 62,000 Ohms and the maximum reservoir capacitor value us 0.25µF.
The anode is a cylindrical bell with the cathode assembly held vertically within it. The heather/cathode is always separated from the anode by a 3.5 mm gap.
The KB/R identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the R identifies the maker as Ferranti, Gem Mill Oldham, pre July 1947.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 48 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type CV261 was first introduced in 1953. See also 1953 adverts.
