The EL3 is an audio output pentode from 1938 and fitted with a Ct8 base cap.
We also have a Mullard EL3 with a more distinctly shouldered envelope.
The pinch construction can be seen and at the top the control grid radiators are visible.
A closer view of the top of the valve showing the grid heat sinks.
The classic envelope is 35 mm in diameter and, including the Ct8 base pins is 113 mm tall.
References: Datasheet, 1040 & 1043. Type EL3 was first introduced in 1938.
