The E283CC is a special quality audio double triode. It is a development of the ECC83 but with a different pin layout. The amplification factor (mu) is, like the ECC83, 100. The data sheet makes it clear that for maximum life the heater voltage should remain within 5% of the 6.3 nominal value.
The transposition of the letters and numbers was the Mullard way of designating a special quality product.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 46 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 3002. Type E283CC was first introduced in 1959. See also 1959 adverts.
