The V233A/1K is a Heil tube microwave oscillator valve. Like the Klystron the Heil tube is a velocity modulated device designed for co-axial line mounting.
The attached data sheet has detail diagrams of the electrode construction and method of operation of this velocity modulated oscillator.
The tube has a 6.3 Volt heater and the cathode current is in the region of 50-60 mA. Reflector voltage would be in the range of 190 to 380 volts and the largest output peak would normally be selected. The V233A/1K is designed to operate from 1.7 to 3.7 GHz with an output power of up to 300 mW.

The evacuation pip is on the side.
See also CV2190.
The thin glass tube disc seal envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 56 mm tall. The flange is 40 mm in diameter.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type V233A/1K was first introduced in 1955. See also 1955 adverts.
