The TB24 is a double diode for use as a signal detector. The Mullard 2D4A looks to be identical and has the same rating. It is probable that both valves were made by Philips in Holland.
The balloon envelope is 28 mm in diameter, and excluding the B5 base pins is 74 mm tall.
References: 1043. Type TB24 was first introduced in 1935. See also 1935 adverts.
