The UF42 is a high μ RF pentode designed for use as a wideband amplifier. The heater is of the 100 mA type for use with a series heater chain.
Electrically the UF42 is identical to the 6.3 Volt heater version the EF42 and has the same pin connections. Our other UF42 has a moulded glass skirt.
The silvering inside the envelope obscures the mesh screen and the electrodes. Note the location pip and absence of spigot.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8A base pins is 54 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type UF42 was first introduced in 1947. See also 1947 adverts.
