The T50-1 is a power triode designed for industrial applications. Also the valve is rated for use as a modulator in Class B or other audio amplifier. The maximum operating frequency is 100 MHz and output is 180 Watts.
The insulators are ceramic and the anode is formed from U channel metal end sections attached to graphite sheets that act as the working faces.
The grid is flat across the anode and made of quite thick wire. The graphite sheet is attached to the metal spacers with a rivet.
A closer view of the lower components.
The classic envelope is 57 mm in diameter, and excluding the UX4 base pins is 155 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet. Type T50-1 was first introduced in 1949. See also 1949 adverts.
