The EY87 is an EHT rectifier designed for EHT derived from the line timebase flyback. The DY87 has the same high voltage rating but has a 1.4 Volt 0.55 Amp heater. It is also for use in flyback generated EHT.
Typical EHT rectifier construction with the small cathode tube held at the centre of the anode bell.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 66 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type EY87 was first introduced in 1956. See also 1956 adverts.
