The CV1507 is a gas filled spark gap designed to protect a receiver front end from high RF energy. The old RAF service code is VI507 and this is on the glass.
The glass sheathed electrodes are exposed only for the defined gap length.
The Box this exhibit came in. Clearly the old stock of VI507 was re-packed.
The device was held at the centre of this roll of corrugated card.
