The VA16 small cold cathode photocell was made by Cinema - Television Ltd in England. The September 1960 price list gives the cost as £3 10 0 or £3.50 in decimal.The Cintel code VA makes this a vacuum cell with an antimony-caesium cathode. The cathode area is 575 sq mm. the maximum cathode current is 8 μA and the dark current is 0.1 μA. Sensitivity is given as 30 μA/l.The light is taken in through the side of the glass envelope and illuminates the curved cathode. The anode is a vertical wire at the focus of the cathode.The wide glass tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter, excluding the B4 base pins, is 56 mm tall.Reference: 4093. |
