The PCL800 is a television receiver valve with a 300 mA heater for use with series heater chains. Domestic televisions worked at mains voltage and did not have a mains transformer.
It is a triode output pentode designed for field timebase or audio service.
The box that this exhibit came in was marked with a price of #1.26 plus purchase tax.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 69 mm tall.
