The UCF80 is the 100 mA heater version of the famous PCF80 used extensively as oscillator/mixer in VHF television receivers.
The pentode is mounted at right angles to the small triode with an electrostatic screen between. Both control grids are wound on copper supports.
The openings in the anode end wall show the pitch of the suppressor grid. You can also see the method of attachment of the wire to the support. A disc cutter notches the support and the wire is placed in the groove. Finally a roller closes the displaced metal of the notch over the wire.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 48 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type UCF80 was first introduced in 1958. See also 1958 adverts.
