The ESU150 is a half wave mercury vapour rectifier. The PIV is 10 kV and the peak forward current is 1.8 Amp.
The presence of the up arrow suggests that this was made for the RAF the envelope also carries an old stores code that predates the CV register.
The stores code of 10E/681 is on the other side of the glass.
The top cap is the screw type common in the early 1930s. The anode is a folded sheet.
The filament is made of perforated tape.
Both filament sections are wound in a spiral that offers considerable surface area in a small space.
The wide glass tube envelope is 57 mm in diameter, and including the GES base is 197 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type ESU150 was first introduced in 1948. See also 1948 adverts.
