The CV1525 is a 2.75 inch electro-statically deflected CRT. The old RAF service code is VCR525. Part of the specification is the ability to operate under reduced pressure i.e. airborne.
This exhibit came with a paper tag that gave additional details. The serial number 2633 matches the label on the tube. It was used in the wave monitor type G86 as part of the RADAR type 277/293.
The KB/ZB identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the ZB identifies the maker as MO Valve Company, Perivale.
The domed faceplate. The neck is internally coated with Aquadag colloidal graphite as a return path for the electrons that strike the screen phosphor.
The CV1525 designation and serial number. The pinch can clearly be seen but little else is visible of the electron gun beyond the base of the cathode tube.
The up arrow has had ND written below.
The gun assembly is held firmly in the correct relative positions by the white glass support rods.
The end window envelope is 40 mm in diameter, and excluding the B12B base pins is 180 mm tall.
