The Hivac D210SW is a battery triode with a ceramic base and a rich Gold metallisation. It dates from 1936 when Hivac introduced their SW or Short Wave versions of earlier valves. The ceramic base was made from 'Frequentite'. With a 2 Volt filament was designed to be heated from an accumulator supply.This exhibit shows a different style of lettering to our other D210SW.The plain reverse. Note the wire fixed to the glass that provides the connection to the metal screening paint.The classic envelope is 39 mm in diameter, and excluding the B4 base pins, is 1o0 mm tall.Reference: 1043.
