The 8068 is a beam tetrode (Beam Pentode) series stabiliser valve for use in high voltage power supplies. The maximum anode voltage is given as 3,500 Volts. In the data sheet the average working conditions look like 600 V on the anode with an output current of 35 mA.
Pins 1, 4 & 6 are omitted.

The top mica and the heat radiating fin on the control grid supports.
The lower mica and components. The bright beam plate can be seen within the anode.
The wide glass tube envelope is 38 mm in diameter and, excluding the IObase pins, is 95 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type 8068 was first introduced in 1961. See also 1961 adverts.
