The CT-201A is fitted with the early standard American base. This has four short pins and a locating pin. The socket is a bayonet fixing type.
The locating pin can be seen on the right.
The pins are not designed for compression because with a bayonet fixing the base has springs to push against the pins.
The pins have the connecting wires from the pinch soldered at the bottom.
The balloon envelope is 42 mm in diameter, and excluding the base pins is 98 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 1003 & 1043. Type CT-201A was first introduced in 1925. See also 1925 adverts.
