The GU1 rectifier is a mercury vapour half wave rectifier on a B4 base.

The filament is a close spaced helix with two centre supports. The anode is a simple plate.

The helix has a coating that can be seen to be disintegrating.

The Osram brand is etched into the envelope.

The Type designation is etched into the dome but is very feint.

The balloon envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 86 mm tall.
