The VMP4G is a screened variable Μ RF amplifier pentode for use in broadcast superhet receivers.The VMP4 and VMP4K were introduced in 1933/4. This improved version the VMP4G was introduced in 1935 as a glass enveloped version when the Catkin valves were phased out.See also VMP4G with most of the external metal screen missing.
