This Cossor 220VS is complete with screw top cap. The cap is unusual in the length of the screw shank.
The 220VS is a variable μ RF tetrode for broadcast receiver use.
The 2.0 Volt filament is for accumulator use and the anode is designed for dry battery operation with a maximum anode voltage of 150 Volts.
The anode consists of two vertical plates, one each side of the central assembly. The thin sheet is strengthened by the embossing of ridges including the stylised C.
Screening was initially believed to require a virtual Faraday cage and the mesh seen here is part of the screen
The electrodes seen end on. The anode plates hang from the top cap and the screen is a complete box.
The main wire seen here is the screen grid. The filament can just be seen on the left.
The getter holder is the square on the right.
The balloon envelope is 46 mm in diameter and excluding the B4 base pins, is 118 mm tall.
