The RGQZ1.4/0.4D is a directly heated full wave mercury vapour rectifier. This exhibit is marked kriegsmarine as it was supplied to the German navy.
Spots of mercury can be seen on the inside of the glass. The solid anode has a hairpin filament running through it. The filament is a ribbon rather than a wire.
Here the two filament can be seen to be connected in parallel.
The opaque dome carries the Type designation and the maker's name.
The Type designation and the maker's name, together with the filament voltage.
The balloon envelope is 45 mm in diameter, and excluding the B4 base pins is 100 mm tall.
Reference: 3002. Type RGQZ1.4/0.4D was first introduced in 1935. See also 1935 adverts.
