The 7Z4 is a full wave rectifier on a Loctal base. We also have the CV346. The UK made valves were introduced in 1947.
The type identification. At the top of the glass tube is the getter holder and the dome is silvered by the getter material.
The Loctal base with the groove in the spigot to allow for a spring in the base to lock the valve into place.
The pair of anodes. The cathode is a small diameter tube and the wide anode has wings either side of the active region.
The insulated heaters entering the cathode tubes.
The blackened anodes are stitched together.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8B base pins is 62 mm tall.
References: Datasheet & 1040. Type 7Z4 was first introduced in 1941.
