This multi cavity UHF amplifier klystron can generate peak powers of 6.5 kW and the collector can dissipate 1 KW. Drive power is around 3.25 Watts. The frequency of operation is 0.96 - 1.215 GHz. The STC commercial Type code is Z211/1G.
Amplifier Klystrons like this one are fitted into external resonant cavities and contact is made via the 71 mm diameter brass rings.
This klystron is intended for operation as a power amplifier used under conditions of pulse modulation and finds application in the ground equipment of the TACAN aerial navigation beacon.
It is used with three cavity resonators, a continuous RF wave being fed into the first at a power level of 3 Watts. The output is taken from the third cavity at a peak power of typically 8 kW. The modulator grid adjacent to the electron gun is normally biased to -150 V (beyond cur-off) and a positive pulse of 5 kV applied.
Under these conditions the permitted duty cycle is approximately 3%.
This shows the collector end with the cooling fins that are designed for forced air cooling.

The other side of the base is the CV number.
The wide glass tube envelope is 57 mm in diameter, and including the base is 590 mm tall.
