The CV2184 instrument cathode-ray tube was based on the VCRX298. The final anode is rated for 3kV maximum but the data-sheet gives 2.5kV as the maximum value as well as 3kV. This final anode is placed after the deflecting plates and PDA keeps the deflecting voltages small for a bright trace.
The PDA anode connects via the side contact. This is recessed to allow for a rubber cover that prevents corona discharge. The Y plates are seen flat to the viewer but the X plates show the construction method and rate of flare. Much use is made of ceramic insulators.
The base and pins.
The useful screen diameter is 55mm. The outer diameter at the face is 69 mm.
The end window envelope is 42 mm in diameter, and excluding the base pins is 233 mm tall.
