The EF86 is the standard early stage audio pre-amplifier valve. This exhibit was made in the 21st century by Tube Audio Doctor.
Its design is low noise and anti-microphonic. In use it is recommended that it is fitted into a vibration resistant base. This has a synthetic rubber mount.
The outer screen obscures all internal construction. Note the newer approach to the connections from the pins - the use of copper.
The thin glass tube envelope is 22 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins, is 48 mm tall.
